Day 30 - Bats
31 Days of Spooky Symbols
We always talk about bats being blind, but we know from school that they see with a sense of radar--tuning into vibrations in the dark. In the same way, bats remind us that we can see things without using our outer eyes at all. They remind us of our inner eye, our intuition.
Intuition isn’t just about saying, “My gut says...” It’s about practicing trust for yourself, trusting your inner voice to guide you in the dark. And that can be really scary, particularly if you are used to looking outside yourself for guidance.
Still, you can learn to trust.
First, you need space so that you can go into the quiet crevices where your intuition lies. And sometimes those spaces are dark, cavelike. Doing the work isn’t always love and light. It can mean feeling deep but also having resources (i.e., a coach, therapist, friend) to pull yourself out of the depths when you need it. It’s about maneuvering through the cave without losing your sense of the light.
Today, you’re being called to reacquaint yourself with your intuition. Allow yourself to get quiet and hear, see, and feel. Meditate, journal, or simply sit in silence and breathe. Pay attention to the thoughts and feelings that surface. Are there recurring themes or insights that keep coming up? These could be clues from your intuition.
Remember to be patient and compassionate with yourself. Trusting your intuition is like building a muscle; it takes time, practice, and dedication. There will be moments of doubt and uncertainty, but that’s all part of the journey.
